Nashville, Tennessee is known for discovering new artists but there are few that have displayed the same originality and diversity as Boyd Deering. This artist will bring you back in time with music full of old-time sensibilities and instrumentations while still having a load of influences from modern sources. People are enjoying this music while working at a NJ car service or relaxing at home here in the South. Using instruments like the Gilchrist mandolin, fiddle, and rhythm guitar, this breed of folk music is perfect for those who are interested in hearing a striking and memorable collection of sounds.
Boyd Deering grew up in Lafayette, Tennessee the son to JV Bud and JoAnne Deering. His father was the owner of the music club the Picking Post and so Boyd was exposed to a variety of music styles at an early age. By age ten he was interested in making his own music and his father taught him some popular fiddle tunes on the mandolin. He lived on a family farm and, like others living in similar homes from there to Plano real estate, would spend most of his time at home working with farm machinery, hauling hay, raising a garden and doing other chores around the house. But he devoted what seemed like every minute outside of that to practicing music.
Deering's passion for stringed instruments grew quickly and soon he was adding acoustic guitar and fiddle to his repertoire. By age fifteen he was teaching guitar at the music school in town and was a member of the house band at his father's club on weekends. This allowed him to work with artists from everywhere from England to Whitby real estate and really add some diversity to his personal sound and abilities. In the five years that Boyd played at the Picking Post he became versed in mandolin, guitar, fiddle, bass, and banjo.
Being an hour from one of the largest music cities in the world, Deering would frequently travel to Nashville as a teenager to play as part of bands, focusing mainly on country and bluegrass music. Throughout the years his talent allowed him to branch out into style ranging from rock and pop to jazz, swing, and gospel music. Now he can easily master music that you will hear in a condominium Toronto based and that being blasted from a barn party in the country.
Before Deering graduated from high school he was already competing in music festivals all throughout the southeast side of the nation. He received top honors in a number of festivals and conventions for both mandolin and fiddle and after winning more than seventy competitions he decided to make the permanent move to Nashville. This was the start of being able to expose his music to those working in search engine marketing Canada based to those attending events in intimate venues in Europe. He's now played before crowds of more than forty thousand and is always looking for ways to expose his music to more people and build a fresh sound. He is a songwriter as well as a performer and even writes on music for a Nashville publication. We at BoydDeering.com want to keep you up to date on everything that's going on with him and his career.
